Share your “Expatriate Life”, help us and tell us more….

Being a HR Consultants, I always admire “All my guys or expat’s” whom I have placed them in different countries., while I am mostly spending my time with my family and friends.

Considering, their endurance, commitment and sacrifices they’ve made – for me, for my clients and last not least “for their family”,

As my token of appreciation to them, I have created a category as “Expatriate Life”.

  • Who are these people?
  • What do they do?
  • Where are they from?
  • Why are they called as an Expat?
  • How’s their life in a foreign country?
  • What difficulties do they face or encounter?

An expatriate (in abbreviated form, expat) is a person temporarily or permanently residing in a country and culture other than that of the person’s upbringing or legal residence.

The term is often used in the context of Westerners living in non-Western countries.

However, an Expatriate can just as well be used to describe any person living in a country other than where they hold citizenship, but is generally not used for government officials stationed in a foreign country.

In countries like Saudi Arabia, many expatriates live on segregated compounds rather than integrate with the local population. As a result a lively community of social blogs has evolved that links the different segregated communities.

In Dubai the population is predominately expats, from areas such as India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and the Philippines with only 3% of the population made up of Western expats.

Here I would like to welcome all expat’s out there, to share and post your views; about the job, experience, food you’ve enjoyed, places to visit, place to stay, budget hotel, pubs, spa’s, night life, sight-seeing, climate, clothing’s, Do’s & Don’ts, regulations, culture and many more…

Thanking you in advance, to all contributors :)
